First of all thanks to Trish Mansell and Bruce and Linda for their help in organising this trip and dealing with the local tourist information.
The route had to be changed, due to road works, but this gave us a later start and then an easy drive up to Villena.
We parked up at the tourist information centre and had an escorted trip round the castle and given informative explanation of various parts of the castle.
Then a quick drive into town, where music was being played in the squares and in to see the gold. This gold treasure is 3000 years old and weighs 10 kgs.
Back into the cars and up above the castle to the restaurant “Las Cruces” with views over the castle and surrounding countryside, for a very pleasant lunch.
